Nothing could be simpler

Le Chanvrier's online orders page allows you to browse products and place standard orders 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To register, simply drop us a line at info@chanvrier.com with your invoicing details.

1. How do I place an order?

The online order form gives you an up-to-date overview of prices, promotions and availability. You can simply fill it out at ease and send it in 24/7. Our order form is password protected and is accessibly only to registered clients. To obtain an access code, simply contact us with your company details.

You can also place your order by mail or phone. Never hesitate to ask us all the questions you need before placing an order. We are only too happy to assist you.

Upon receipt of your order, you will receive a personal message with a pro forma invoice with a detailed overview of your order. Please verify it carefully to allow us to deliver the correct order to the correct address.

If you do not receive confirmation of your order within 48 hours, please contact us. Your message may not have reached us.

2. I can't find the prices!

Prices are marked on the online order form. As we do not sell to the general public, this section of our site is password protected. In order to receive your access code, please send details of your company including your business registration number and/or VAT number.

3. I am a private individual. Where can I buy your fabrics?

A list of retailers can be found in the links section. If you have problems finding a particular fabric, please contact us and we will direct you to a retailer where you can place your order.

4. Is there a minimum order volume?

We accept orders from as little as 10 meters. For the confection of prototypes you can order smaller, sample-sized quantities. Retail sales of sample fabrics is not permitted. After an initial order of samples, the minimum order quantity of 10m applies. Prices for full roll orders are naturally more competitive.

5. What payment methods do you accept?

Our preferred method of payment is by bank (or 'Swift') transfer. International bank transfers in the Euro zone can be made at no extra cost, provided you mark your payment as 'shared bank charges'. If paying us from a euro account within the EU please mark your transfer as ‘shared bank charges’. For orders outside the euro zone, the client bears all costs related to the transfer.

We also accept electronic and credit card payments through PayPal at no extra charge.

Orders over €750, paid by bank transfer before the due date receive a 5% discount.

Please note that cheques are not accepted and that all other forms of payment are by prior arrangement only.

6. When is payment due?

First time orders are shipped following receipt or proof of payment (e.g. a copy of your bank order). We reserve the right to ship future orders upon receipt of your payment.

The due date is always marked on your invoice and is fixed at 30 calendar days after the invoice date. In the event of late payment, we reserve the right to increase the balance due by 10% to cover the administrative costs involved in recovering outstanding invoices. Interest rates applicable to late payments are fixed by Belgian Trade Law. See our Sales Conditions for more information.

7. Can you arrange custom orders for larger quantities?

Yes! We endeavour to maintain stock of our most popular fabrics in order to respond quickly to standard orders. However, for large orders or special fabrics not always in stock, it is possible to place a pre-order. We offer an extensive range of hemp, bamboo, soy, silk, wool and organic cotton fabrics. Fabrics can be milled according to your specifications and delivered to you straight from the mill. We offer two different services and prices:

DDP (Incoterms): Delivered Duty Paid
This is our door-to-door hassle free service. We deal with all the logistics and administration involved in getting your fabric shipped, cleared through customs, etc. You pay an all-in price so there will be no extra charges.

CIF (Incoterms) : Cost, Insurance and Freight
We organise and pay for shipping to your closest seaport (or airport). A broker of your choice then deals with the port and customs formalities and forwards your freight to you. By taking on the import side yourself, you benefit from our most economical prices.

Pre-orders offer significant savings, but please bear in mind:

  • Production takes between 4 to 6 weeks. Shipping from China to the EU takes approximately 4 weeks, while customs clearance can take up to an additional 10 days. For delivery from Turkey, allow 1 to 2 weeks by road depending on your location.

  • All pre-orders go into production upon payment of 30% of the pro forma invoice total. The final balance needs to be paid when the goods are ready to leave the mill. At this point you will receive your final invoice and packing list, giving you an overview of the exact volume of your order.

  • The minimum order quantity depends on the type of fabric you wish to order. For knits it is 250kg (100kg per colour if dyed at the mill). For wovens it is 2500m (500m per colour). Our Chinese partner has a regular stock of several wovens so it is sometimes possible to negotiate lower quantities depending on availability.
